Los diferentes tipos de artículos y sus usos en la promoción de una página webEscrito en inglés por jeanette (traductora / éditora)
As stated in our previous article, ‘How can good articles improve my website?’, an article should be informative, interesting and useful but the amount and type of information given in an article depends on the aim in writing that particular article.
To someone unfamiliar with the mechanics of search engines and the complexities of marketing, an article may appear to simply consist of a quantity of words in the form of sentences and paragraphs. A person familiar with the concepts involved in website construction and marketing knows that words can be used as a valuable tool on their website and an article can be constructed in different ways with different formats or word usage depending on the end result required.
In this article on website promotion we will explain some of the more common types of article and how they can be used to increase a website’s visits, interest visitors in products or services, increase sales of a particular product or service, promote a website with search engines thus increasing visibility and strengthening the credibility of a company and its products/services.
A SEO refers to articles written specifically to appeal to search engines (Search Engine Optimisation) so helping search engines to identify a particular webpage as containing information relevant to a particular search term.
Many people make the mistake of assuming that simply cramming an article full of keywords or key phrases will magically make their webpage appear in the number one spot on Google, Bing or another search engine but this is not so. As with any other service, search engines require their service to be of optimum use to their ‘clients’, in this case the internet surfers, so although keywords are important they are not the deciding factor in search engine placement.
A visitor will look for interesting information that is well presented and a search engine will reflect this, promoting the articles, web content and website pages that they feel will be useful to their visitors.
This is again another reason why the articles you use for your website should be well written and useful (or interesting) to your visitors, including SEO articles.
This particular abbreviation stands for Build My Rank and it refers to articles (generally 150-200 words in length) that are specifically written to promote a website. BMR articles are normally allowed to contain one or two links and are often posted on blogs, forums or social networking sites. The main features of this type of article are that it should be short, capture a reader’s attention and encourage action on the part of the reader in the form of a visit using the link provided.
Product/Service information and promotion
Many articles are written to be used on websites to encourage visitors to learn about the particular products or services offered on that website as is the case with this particular article. Promotional articles of this type should have keywords and key phrases that will easily be picked up by search engines in order that when a person does a relevant search on Google, Bing, Yahoo or another search engine your page will appear in the results. However the main point about this type of article is that it should offer interesting and useful information to the visitor that is relevant to your product or service.
Although you can promote your product or service in the text, the accent should be more on the general uses and advantages of the product or service itself rather than your particular version of that product/service.
Marketing or advertising text
With this type of text, contrary to the last type, the accent is more on your particular product or service, why your particular offering is superior to that available elsewhere.
Although keywords and key phrases are again important they should reflect not only the general product/service but also your version(s) of the same. Whereas the previous format was more informational in style here the emphasis is on promoting and selling your particular version.
